  • Post-doctoral researcher Jamie Wubben attended the 20th Annual International Conference on Distributed Computing in Smart Systems and the Internet of Things (DCOSS-IoT 2024) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to present a paper related to UAVs in precision agriculture, in collaboration with IST Lisbon.

  • Post-doc student Jamie Wubben attended the 20th ACM International Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Wireless Ad Hoc, Sensor, and Ubiquitous Networks (part of ACM MSWiM 2023), in Montreal, Canada, to present paper UAV wireless communications performance in urban environments.

  • PhD student Jamie Wubben has successfully defended his PhD thesis before an international jury that included Profs. Enrico Natalizio, Wojciech Giernacki and Manuel Malumbres, obtaining maximum score. The thesis was supervised by Profs. Carlos T. Calafate and Juan Carlos Cano.

5 members of the GRC group attend the Jornadas Sarteco 2023.

  • Prof. Carlos T. Calafate joined students Iker Nebot, Virginia Casino, Julián Arenillas and David Clérigues to the Jornadas Sarteco 2023. During the events, all students presented their works in different technical sessions.

  • Prof. Carlos T. Calafate attended the IEEE ICT-DM 2023 conference dedicated on disaster management. In the conference he acted as TPC Chair, and also has paper presenter. There he met several colleagues including Floriano de Rango, Claudio Casetti, and Mauro Tropea, among many others.
