1st International Workshop on
Unconventional IoT Applications (Un-IoT 2023)

June 19-21, 2023, Coral Bay, Pafos, Cyprus
as part of DCOSS-IoT 2023

Roma

IoT is experiencing a dramatic growth in recent years, leading to different interaction paradigms between people and their environment. In this sense, we can already see many useful application areas like Smart Cities, environmental monitoring, connected logistics, smart digital supply chains, healthcare, smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and smart power grids. Yet, more unconventional solutions could be devised with the support of IoT-related technologies, for example, to interconnect the real and the virtual worlds of the Metaverse.

Topics of Interest

In Un-IoT, we seek papers that address unconventional IoT uses and applications targeting new target areas that still remain mostly unexplored. This can be achieved by combining techniques and technologies from different research areas, including embedded systems, wireless communications, machine learning/artificial intelligence/deep learning, social science, citizen science, human-computer interaction, etc. Papers are expected to bring forth new ideas, proofs of concept, and fruitful discussions regarding future research directions in this area, on topics like:

  • IoT for the Metaverse
  • IoT for smart tourism
  • IoT-based Digital Twins
  • Space IoT
  • Maritime IoT
  • IoT solutions for challenging industrial environments
  • IoT solutions for desertic, polar and jungle regions
  • IoT for athletic training enhancement
  • IoT and accessibility
  • IoT for entertainment
